What is a bimmer or Beamer Car? A Bimmer is a nickname that BMW owners like to call a car. It’s an affectionate term and they’re very proud of Bimmers. But there’s something more behind this name, Bimmer.

What is a bimmer

People who don’t own a BMW often ask, “What is a Bimmer?” When I hear that a BMW owner uses that nickname for their car. It’s a strange story why BMW cars are called Bimmers.

Beamer Car

At the time when BMW was a newcomer to the block, they were not building cars at all. You were a motorcycle manufacturer. BSA motorcycles had a popular bike that his fans called Beeser. Well, BMW bike owners also wanted an interesting name for their bikes. That’s why they nicknamed their BMW motorcycle headlights.

Then time passed and BMW started producing cars. Well, when car fans found out that motorcycles were nicknamed Beamers, they wanted a nickname too! And the name Bimmer was born. Some did not receive the grade, so to speak, and their boyfriend BMW Beamer is still calling today. Sad but true. This usually annoys Bimmers’ biggest and most loyal fans, but no fist fights have broken out. They avoid only beginners.

Tire maintenance and care

Rotate the tires every 5,000 miles or every 6 months.

Check your tire pressure about once a week. Low tire pressure can affect fuel consumption, handling and comfort. To accurately measure tire pressure, make sure the tires are cold. Wait at least three hours after driving.
Always make sure your wheels are aligned correctly. Poorly aligned wheels will pull the car on the road.
Check your spare tire every month and keep it properly inflated so that it is ready to go when you need it most.
Use the penny trick to determine if the tread on your tires has worn out too low. Take a penny and stick Abraham Lincoln’s head in one of the grooves on the treadmill. If part of his head is covered by the tread, you’re fine. When you can see his whole head, it’s time to replace the tire. When the tread is worn to 1/16 inch, the tires must be replaced.

Tips on fuel consumption

  • Check and / or change the air filter every 6 months to reduce fuel consumption and keep the engine running.
  • It doesn’t fill. Do not bother to fill the car tank. Any extra gas will simply carry around or leak.
  • Tighten the fuel cap. The gas evaporates from the fuel tank of your car if it escapes. Free, missing or damaged fuel caps vaporize 147 million gallons of gas each year.
  • Go to the shadows. The hot summer sun that makes the interior of the car look like a sauna evaporates and the fuel in the gas tank.
  • Use the right oil. You can improve the car’s gas mileage by 1 to 2 percent using the type of engine oil recommended by the manufacturer.
